Station Tours
The Allenstown Fire Department offers station tours to kids of all ages. Groups from 2 to 20 people can come in to meet the
Fire/EMS personnel and see the apparatus and equipment up close and personal.
Kid’s activities may include spraying a real fire hose or seeing the firefighters put on their protective clothing and self contain breathing apparatus.
Classroom and Community Group Visits
The fire prevention officer and staff are available to make visitations to local youth groups. The presentation will be about 30 minutes to 1 hour; and covers home and personal fire safety, fire drills in the home, at school and the work place, making emergency calls, daily fire department operations, and the firefighter’s job function and responsibilities. Occasionally a fire truck may be available for display.
Fire Extinguisher Classes
The fire prevention officer and staff is available to instruct groups on the proper use and selection of portable fire extinguishers. The presentation and practical will be about 1 hour to 1.5 hours. Presentation includes live fire-fighting evolutions. Fire extinguishers for this program must be provided for by the host organization.
